best suite hotel?

We%26#39;re planning a family trip--kids ages 7 %26amp; 10--in late August and are trying to find a suite hotel with a good location. We%26#39;re looking at the Embassy Suites Downtown, Homewood Suites, Hilton Suites, and Omni (which is running a pretty good deal, including parking and food credit). Any feedback on any of those would be great!

All are nice properties. You can read reviews of each property in the Chicago Hotels section of this web site.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Homewood Suites, and they were very nice. Location was also good, and the free breakfast was quite extensive. There was a full kitchen and living area, and I%26#39;m pretty sure there was also a pool in the hotel. I think it would be a great place to stay for a family.

The Omni is a lovely upscale hotel. I%26#39;ve stayed there before and will be staying there again in a few weeks. Just keep in mind that the rooms don%26#39;t have refrigerators %26amp; microwaves like most suite hotels.

The Omni is the nicest and parking can add lot to your bill so I would go with it if the price is at all close. The one drawback is the noise. I live across the street from the Omni and Michigan Ave can be very loud. Ambulances at all hours go by several times a night. The Embassy Suites closer to Navy Pier can sometimes be very resonable and is pretty nice although parking can be expensive. It is walking distance to Navy Pier and Michigan Ave.

I agree with the Embassy Suites near Navy Pier. Walk to the lakefront and Michigan Ave., plus the evening managers reception and a decent breakfast. Parking anywhere downtown is expensive and is just something you have to budget for.
