I am considering moving from Muncie Indiana to Peoria and would like to get some info. I am wondering about the safest areas to move to. I have looked at some rental listings online and some of the areas that would be affordable for me were listed as N. University, Plank Rd., Terrace View and Lake %26amp; Knoxville area and am wondering about these areas. Also wondering about the schools, specifically elementary and high schools, which are the best ones? How is the employment situation? From what I have read online so far where I live is half the size of Peoria but our unemployment rates is double that of Peoria. Anyone that can help me I would greatly appreciate it!

Indygal - If you%26#39;re looking within the city of Peoria vs. outlying communities, then I would recommend you look in the north Peoria area. Several new rental developments have been built over the past couple of years. If you move to that area it would put you in the Richwoods H.S. area, or further north you would be in the Dunlap H.S. area. As for the employement situation, it may be half of your unemployment rate in Muncie, but it%26#39;s still not good here. As you probably know our largest employer is Caterpillar and they have laid off thousands of workers over the past 6 months. If you work in the medical field, then there may be more opportunities since there is a large medical field here.

Thank you for replying! Just curious, but are the people there friendly? Where I am the people arent very friendly at all and most are just downright rude.
