I will be staying at the Westin across from the Hancock, where is the best place to catch the Blue Line?
Catching the El Blue Line
See the chicago transit website http://www.transitchicago.com/. You can use the trip planner on the right hand side and it%26#39;ll give you the best options to get where you want to go.
That said, the closest to your hotel will be the Clark/Lake station just south of the river on Lake Street between Clark Street and LaSalle Street. You could walk there from your hotel - maybe 15 minutes, or take a bus down Michigan and get off at Lake Street, then walk a few minutes west, or hop on the redline at the Chicago stop and transfer to the blue line at Jackson.
Catching the El Blue Line
It%26#39;s a bit of a hike from Clark/Lake to your hotel. Take a cab from there. Clark/Lake has elevators from the train to street level.
But, for example, if you%26#39;re headed to the airport you might prefer to take a cab to the Chicago blue line station which isn%26#39;t a whole lot farther than the Clark/Lake stop and prevents backtracking and extra time on the train.
So, it depends on where you%26#39;re headed. But the trip planner function posted above is fantastic.
