First time visitor/weekend in Chicago

Hi all,

I am planning a two leg trip - fly to Chicago for a weekend, then take a train to St. Louis to visit family/friends.

I am thinking of flying to Chicago on a Friday morning and leaving Sunday or Monday.

1. It will be in mid-September - what is the weather like at that time?

2. What is a decent, centrally located hotel to stay at? I am legally blind and will be using public transportation (or the ADA para transit service).

3. What are some good trips/tours. I like boat tours, guided bus tours, historical areas, etc.

any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Al

For tours, start with the Chicago Architecture Foundation: www.architecture.org

I think I would recommend staying in the Loop (downtown) for easy access to the tours and museums. You might like a small hotel in a historic building, like the Burnham or Silversmith. Both have excellent access to transportation, although most of what you have planned is within walking distance or a short cab ride.
