I am travelling to New York and Chicago in a few days, but I won%26#39;t ask the usual ';Should I cancel my trip?';question. But since the CDC has shown a great increase in swine flu cases in Illinois in the last few days, I was just wondering:
Has everyday life in Chicago been affected, even in little things? Are people taking special measures over it?
Is someone reccomending to saty away from people gatherings? Are schools closing?
Sorry, too many questions, but I just wanted to know from locals how big concern is in there?
What about swine flu?
The swine flu was in the news a lot last week, but not so much in the last few days. I know there were a few schools closed in the area, but I think all of them are back now. There seems to be some concern with what will happen next fall, at the start of the next flu season.
At one school in our town, the children were instructed to wash their hands first thing in the morning, and again before lunch, and the laptops are all cleaned with wipes before using. At the other schools, I think it鈥檚 business as usual.
What about swine flu?
Other than a few school closings there hasn%26#39;t been much. I can say that it hasn%26#39;t affected my day to day life one bit. No one is wearing masks on the train or avoiding crowds or staying home or anything.
