Before anyone laughs at my question, let me explain. We wanted to go for seafood on our first night in Chicago, but we%26#39;re just arriving that evening so someplace relatively casual is preferred.
I noticed both restaurants have locations relatively close by on Wacker (we%26#39;re staying at the Blackstone Renaissance). I%26#39;ve been to other McCormick locations and, while a chain, I%26#39;ve found it to be reasonably priced (especially as we%26#39;ll be going for a more expensive meal the next night) and, if not spectacular, fairly consistent and dependable. However, if Catch 35 is as good or better and within the same relative price range, I wouldn%26#39;t mind trying a local place.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

IMO - a better option downtown:

If you%26#39;re at the Blackstone Renaissance, you%26#39;re not that close to those restaurants...maybe about 10 or 12 blocks. The Chicago Downtown Renaissance is the one that%26#39;s near those two. That being said, I prefer Catch 35. Tho it%26#39;s a little more formal, the food is a bit more interesting. Not sure where to get fish by the Blackstone, but the restaurant that%26#39;s in that hotel, Mercat, is great spanish tapas, loud, lively, casual...tho not cheap.
Thanks for the suggestions!
My wife and I used to eat at M%26amp;S all the time but it has really gone down hill the last few years.
