Taxi from Midway

What is the approximate fare from Midway to the Renaissance on Wacker? Is it based on distance or time(would rush hour traffic increase the rate?). Also- can you still actually pay cash?

Sorry....one more question. Will we be able to get a taxi near the Parkwest Theater after a show? Is the area safe to walk to a nearby hotel to get a taxi? I guess that was actually 2 questions.....

You can take a CTA train to your hotel for $2.25 - take an orange line train from MDW. Get off at State/Lake. It%26#39;s a 2 minute walk from there to your hotel. It%26#39;s about 30 minutes by train. www.transitchicago.com for details.

The taxi fare is based primarily on distance, but there is a charge for every minute that the cab isn%26#39;t moving. It will be more expensive to travel by cab during rush hour because of this. The cabbies will be very happy that you are paying cash.
