We are going to be staying on Dearborn St. Is it possible to walk to the Navy Pier. Are there sidewalks all the way.
Walking to Navy Pier
Grand Ave runs east/west across downtown. You can map out directions here - http://www.hopstop.com/?city=chicago
Walking to Navy Pier
Dearborn--what address? -you can walk east on many streets that take you to the lake that will take you to the pier.
We are staying at the Springhill Suites 410 N Dearborn. I checked it out on hopstop, I am wondering about sidewalks under N. Lake Shore Dr. Are there any? I am assuming you cross under it.
You will cross underneath Lake Shore Drive. You could also take the Riverwalk most of the way there, which will avoid having to cross streets.
Thanks everyone!
Another option is to check out the trolley map to see if it stops near your hotel. We utilized this when we stayed at the Hatmpon Inn %26amp; Suites on Illinois St. It took right to Navy Pier. Hope they stop near your hotel. Was a great way to get around.

The #29 bus goes from State and Illinois to Navy Pier. You can walk down Illinois but it goes under a lot of streets and is not pleasant. So walk over to Grand and head East.
I think the free trolley service has been discontinued by the city as part of budget cuts.
The trolley mentioned above is not free. The city did discontinue its free trolley service. Navy Pier runs a free trolley service that goes up and down Grand and Illinois between the Pier and State Street.
