Hotel to watch Fireworks from

Hello,

I will be in Chicago for my first time Fourth of July weekend. I am looking for a hotel where I will be able to see the July 3 fireworks from my room or roof terrace. Any suggetsions? Thanks!

The W Lakeshore, Fairmont and Swissotel would be good options. You%26#39;ll need to contact the hotels directly regarding views.

Thanks! I called the Swissotel and they explained that they have city/park views or lake views. From what I am reading, the Taste of Chicago fireworks on the 3rd are in Grant Park. I assume that means I would want a park view, correct?

The fireworks are shot out over the lake, near Grant Park. A park view room would probably be fine, but if it%26#39;s city/park as one category, you could end up facing northwest and see nothing. Lake looks out over the lake, but again, if it%26#39;s a northeast view, you wouldn%26#39;t see much.

Also, keep in mind that fireworks viewed from inside don%26#39;t have nearly the effect they do when viewed from outside. The ';boom'; makes a big difference. If you%26#39;re there with little kids who might be scared, this can be a good thing, but otherwise consider looking for a room with a balcony, or at least with functioning windows. Both of these might be hard to come by.

A lake view room at the Swissotel is great for viewing Navy Pier fireworks; that I can tell you. But not sure if the July 3rd fireworks can be viewed from there.
