Hi - we are traveling to West Chicago for four nights May 14 - 18th and hoping to find a restaurant/bar in the area of Bolingbrook that is exciting! Somewhere other than a chain restaurant for dinner would be great - we are excited to be coming to the big city, but realize we are about 30 minutes from downtown.
The parents are all between 35 - 40 yrs and will be looking for a night out with their families and possibly a night out without?
Can you offer any suggestions? We are staying at the SpringHill Suites, Bolingbrok, IL
...and what about shopping? We realize the best may be along the Magnificent Mile - but what is out in the Bolingbrook area???
Good, lively restaurants around Bolingbrook?
There is an IKEA in Bolingbrook, and the Promenade Bolingbrook shopping center is new. I would not compare this to shopping on the Magnificent Mile though.
If you are looking for a unique family-friendly restaurant, check out White Fence Farm. They have delicious chicken served family style, and their corn fritters are worth the trip. They have a petting zoo that is popular with the little ones.

Also, will you be visiting West Chicago (the town) or the western suburbs? West Chicago is a town 20+ miles from Bolingbrook. You may want to post on the Chicago forum.
Just to clarify - it%26#39;s about 23 miles between West Chicago %26amp; Bolingbrook. Any particular reason for visiting West Chicago (a suburb 40 miles west of Chicago)?
