My husband and I are debating on whether to go in May (two MLB games) or June (Bluesfest). It will be our first time to Chicago so I was a little apprehensive when I saw that the bluesfest draws over 640,000 people!
I%26#39;m looking at the Inn of Chicago, Westin or Renaissance. The Inn currently has some fabulous deals and says it%26#39;s newly renovated. Is this a nice, clean hotel in a good area?
If we were to go in June for the bluesfest, is it too late to get reservations? Is it so crowded that you can%26#39;t get around? How close can you get to the stage to view the entertainment?
Thanks to all you experts that help us make these decisions!!!!!!!!!!
Where to stay May or June
Don%26#39;t let bluesfest attendance numbers scare you, the crowds are not bad. There are multiple stages. The mainstage has a first come/first serve queue to the main seating area. You may need to devote a lot of time to earn a seat down in front. However, secondary stages are general admission and you can get right up to the stage no problem.
Where to stay May or June
Plus you can sit on the lawn, as opposed to the main seating area. May weather can be much iffier than June. We have had some miserable Memorial Day weekends.

Also consider Hotwire or Priceline.
Inn of Chicago is in a good area, right off Michigan Ave. And if you like Blues, well, that Blues Fest is the largest free one in the world, so they say. You will be surrounded by lots of blues fans, but it%26#39;s a big outdoor festival so it%26#39;s not like you are going to be in a crowded indoor venue where you can%26#39;t breathe. And if you can%26#39;t get up front, they have great acoustics that you can hear the music from wherever you are, and big screens that show the performers. And there are multiple stages, food vendors, etc.
Thanks everybody - very very helpful!!!!
